Naxx (Michal Kvicinsky) is a Canadian-Czech singer-songwriter living near Vancouver, BC.
Taking influence from big and small acts alike, Naxx's performances and songwriting are filled with vibrant energy influenced by the 2000's pop-rock era while combining elements of modern indie-folk. Recalling the era's nostalgic sound while delivering catchy melodies accompanied by heartfelt lyricism; taking influence from his life lived in 2 places located halfway across the world from one another.
Naxx’s first single “Call Us Crazy” was self-recorded and self-released in 2020 as an entry point to showcasing the sonical values he strives to achieve. Followed by showcasing a more humble, stripped down sound on his second release; an acoustic cover performance of “Lua” from “The Bright Eyes”.
On his most recent original release “Stay” in 2023 we get to go back into the past as the very first voice memo of this song was recorded in 2017. With this single we are met with the dreamy, nostalgic and electrifying part of Naxx’s sound with youthful innocence at its core. The music video for ‘’Stay” has been filmed on a phone in four separate locations across North America at different times of the year. Locations include parts of British Columbia, Oregon, Washington and Nevada with the help of Michal’s brother Jakub behind the camera, an integral member of the project as the leading drummer on all of Naxx’s recordings.
Currently Michal is on a journey to record the staples of his discography, starting with songs from his teenage years, making it all the way to his present songwriting with the hope of capturing his personal and artistic growth and its continuous shift across his career.
